About Nuna Farms
Our Farm
Nuna Farms is a small farm situated in Murphy, Oregon, not far from Grants Pass. With 12 acres of arable land, we have a lot of space to achieve our goals. It can be overwhelming at times for first generation farmers, but when we question why the heck we decided to do this, we look to our north star.
The goal of Nuna Farms is to transform these acres into a thriving ecosystem full of abundant plant life, vibrant gardens, fertile soil, beneficial insects, wildlife habitats, and grazing animals that benefits the people, plants, and animals.
As a first step, we started raising pasture-fed chickens to supply our community with fresh, locally-sourced poultry while amending our soils at the same time. It seemed crazy at first, but with our first year behind us and an admirable amount of customer support, we’ve turned our focus to chickens and expanded our reach to serve more communities in Southern Oregon.
Our Story
Casey is a retired city girl from Las Vegas and Corban is a newfound country boy from Arkansas that met at a permaculture farm in a small village in Guatemala called Tzununa.
At this farm, we came to learn and appreciate well-established, traditional farming practices that promote harmony between all walks of life and enrich the land rather than exhausting its resources. Funnily enough, this is the same farm where Corban processed his first chicken and Casey unexpectedly bawled her eyes out when it happened.
With inspiration and opportunity, we returned to our homeland and embarked on the journey of starting a farm. As first-generation farmers, we’re navigating and learning as we go, and we are so happy to connect the community back to their food one chicken at a time.
